The sea is 20 minutes by car, you can even get there by bike thanks to the cycle paths that connect Lunel to La Grande Motte. Couchant beach is a large, wide beach that begins west of the port of La Grande Motte near the nautical center. It has several facilities such as a volleyball area, football, and aid stations. The Promenade des Dames (which is cycleable) runs along it and continues to the Grand Travers beach.
